Content and How to Play:
Concept: This game encourages couples to step outside their comfort zones and have an adventurous date built around animal play behavior.
Materials:
- Deck of cards with animal prompts (you can make your own!)
- Comfortable clothes and shoes suitable for outdoor activity (optional)
Gameplay:
- Create the Deck: Write animal names or short descriptions of animal play behaviors on index cards. Here are some ideas:
- Playful animals: Otters wrestling, monkeys swinging, puppies chasing.
- Cooperative animals: Wolves hunting, birds building nests, ants working together.
- Creative animals: Birds singing, beavers building dams, spiders spinning webs.
- Set the Mood: Choose a location that allows for some physical activity – a park, backyard, or even your living room (if space allows). Put on some upbeat music if you like.
- Draw a Card: Take turns drawing a card and discussing how you can incorporate that animal’s behavior into a playful activity.
- Get Active!: Here are some ideas depending on the card drawn:
- Playful animals: Have a tickle fight, play tag, build a pillow fort and have a playful battle.
- Cooperative animals: Work together on a puzzle, build a blanket fort together, create a piece of art together (painting, sculpture, etc.)
- Creative animals: Tell a story together taking turns adding sentences, do a silly dance inspired by the animal, come up with a song about the animal.
- Spice it Up: Feel free to add some romantic elements after (or during!) your playful activity. This could be a slow dance, a cuddle under the stars (if outdoors), or a candlelit dinner.
Additional Tips:
- Make it a competition! Award points for the most creative or enthusiastic participation.
- Feel free to modify the gameplay to suit your physical abilities and comfort levels.
- Most importantly, have fun and enjoy the unique bonding experience!
