A 2-Session Group Workshop for Consent, Communication & a Safer Work Climate

This essential group workshop is designed to help teams build a professional culture based on respect, clarity, psychological safety, and mutual trust.

By applying principles from consent theory and Nonviolent Communication, participants will learn how to establish, respect, and negotiate clear boundaries in the workplace. The program supports healthier collaboration, prevents harmful dynamics, and helps create an environment where everyone feels safe to contribute, innovate, and be authentic.

Participants will develop practical tools to say yes with clarity, say no with confidence, and receive boundaries without defensiveness or conflict.

🤝 Workshop Overview

Duration

2 Group Sessions (90 Minutes Each)

🟢 Session 1 — The Art of Consent

Yes, No & Personal Clarity

The first session focuses on understanding boundaries as a foundation for professional respect and psychological safety.

Participants will explore how unclear agreements, fear-based acceptance, and unspoken limits can create stress, resentment, confusion, or workplace tension.

This session supports:

  • Understanding consent in a professional context
  • Identifying personal limits with clarity
  • Recognizing when “yes” comes from fear or obligation
  • Building mutual respect and safer collaboration
  • Preventing unhealthy communication and power dynamics

🧱 Myths About Boundaries

Boundaries Are Protection, Not Rejection

Participants will learn that a boundary is not a rejection of others, but a way to protect the professional bond and maintain healthy collaboration.

Together, we will explore:

  • Why boundaries strengthen trust
  • How unclear limits create tension
  • The difference between distance and self-respect
  • How boundaries support sustainable teamwork

✅ The Enthusiastic “Yes”

Moving Beyond Fear-Based Agreement

This section helps participants identify the difference between a clear, authentic “yes” and a “yes” given out of fear, pressure, obligation, or avoidance.

Participants will learn how to recognize the “gray zone” at work, where they may accept tasks or responsibilities without real availability or consent.

This supports:

  • More honest agreements
  • Better workload management
  • Reduced resentment and burnout
  • Clearer team expectations

🚦 Practical Tool — “The Safety Traffic Light”

Defining Green, Yellow & Red Zones at Work

Participants will use the Safety Traffic Light tool to define:

  • Green: What is available, clear, and comfortable
  • Yellow: What is negotiable or needs more discussion
  • Red: What is a firm limit or non-negotiable boundary

This practical exercise helps teams understand individual and collective limits while creating safer, more transparent collaboration.

💬 Session 2 — Negotiation & Feedback

Flexibility, Respect & Difficult Conversations

The second session focuses on how to communicate boundaries while maintaining connection, professionalism, and mutual respect.

Participants will learn how to say no constructively, negotiate alternatives, and receive boundaries without taking them personally.

This session supports:

  • Healthier feedback conversations
  • More respectful negotiation
  • Reduced defensiveness and conflict
  • Better management of urgent or stressful requests
  • Stronger trust within the team

🌱 The Positive “No”

Declining Requests Without Breaking Connection

Participants will learn practical techniques to decline requests clearly while offering constructive alternatives when possible.

This includes:

  • Saying no with respect and confidence
  • Offering realistic options or timelines
  • Avoiding guilt-based overcommitment
  • Protecting personal capacity while supporting the team

👂 Receiving Boundaries

Hearing “No” Without Taking It Personally

This section helps participants develop emotional maturity when someone else expresses a limit.

Together, we will practice:

  • Listening without defensiveness
  • Respecting different capacities and needs
  • Understanding that boundaries are not personal attacks
  • Maintaining trust even during disagreement

🎭 Practical Tool — Negotiation Role-Play

Practicing Real Workplace Scenarios

Participants will practice real situations, such as last-minute urgencies, workload overload, feedback moments, or conflicting priorities.

Through guided role-play, they will learn to:

  • Express limits clearly
  • Negotiate with mutual respect
  • Offer alternatives when appropriate
  • Maintain connection during difficult conversations

✨ Integration & Team Conclusion

At the end of the workshop, the team will integrate the tools and agreements developed throughout the program.

Team Takeaway

Participants will co-create a:

🛡️ “Respect Manifesto”

This shared agreement will define the team’s rules of coexistence, including:

  • How boundaries are expressed
  • How requests are negotiated
  • How feedback is given and received
  • How respect, safety, and trust are protected in daily collaboration

🌟 Workshop Outcome

By the end of Healthy Boundaries, participants will:

  • Understand boundaries as a tool for trust and safety
  • Communicate yes, no, and maybe with greater clarity
  • Reduce fear-based agreement and overcommitment
  • Learn how to negotiate difficult requests respectfully
  • Receive boundaries without defensiveness
  • Support a healthier, safer, and more respectful work climate

This workshop is an invitation to create a professional environment where respect is not assumed, but actively practiced.
